Enormous Crowd Joins the 10th Annual Marine Money Greek Ship Finance Forum

Marine Money’s dynamic duo, Kevin Oates and Mia Jensen hosted a staggering crowd of 400 delegates, or friends as President Matt McCleery called the guests in his opening remarks while on the screen behind him flashed the face of the famous iconic Greek ship-owner Aristotle Onassis and his quote ending: “Be a friend to your friends”

The discussions, like the markets, were challenging, making for one of the more interesting conference days maybe ever.

Moderators Anthony Backos and George Paleokrassas of Watson Farley & Williams led a panel on sourcing the expected $300 billion in capital required for the current order book.  Andreas Treede of KfW-IPEX spoke first noting that the volatility of the shipping markets is reflected in banks’ balance sheets and profit/loss statements
